Psychology

Amelia Read Psychology is a specialised Neurodivergent affirming ASD and ADHD support and disability management clinic. Amelia and her team offer one-on-one, parenting, or family support to those living with ASD and ADHD.

We offer a range of assessment services including diagnostic, learning, educational, cognitive, and NDIS functional capacity assessments.
These assessments play an integral role in developing an in-depth understanding of our client's social, emotional, and educational needs.
Assessments are completed based on the individual needs of each client, as we understand that no two brains are the same.

Assessment

Our clinic's assessments offer a structured approach to evaluating an individual's unique strengths and challenges. Our experienced psychologists utilise various evidence-based assessment tools rooted in established psychological theory and research to guarantee their validity and reliability. Individuals seeking clarity for how their brain works and possible neurodivergent conditions often benefit from cognitive assessments, which can reveal common patterns and traits linked to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other common learning disorders.

Intervention & Ongoing Support

Our range of interventions are grounded on proven, evidence-based methods to enhance mental health and well-being. Therapy sessions are customized to suit each client's unique situation and needs. We address specific issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress with compassion and a holistic approach. By adapting to each individual’s requirements, our team of expert psychologists assist clients in building coping strategies, regulating emotions, and fostering personal growth.

Educational & Therapeutic Group Programs

Alongside our various individual support services, our clinic offers group therapy programs to foster learning and insight into the unique capabilities of the neurodiverse brain. These programs are designed by clinical psychologist, Amelia Read, and are delivered in a variety of formats. Our philosophy is that Autism and ADHD are to be valued, and our therapeutic and educational programs are an empowering space for individuals, their families, and their wider support networks.

Physiotherapy

The developmental delays caused by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can affect a child's gross and fine motor skills. The role of a physiotherapist is to support motor impairments in the body including respiratory control issues and level of coordination, improved posture, and addressing misalignment in the musculoskeletal system. Our experienced paediatric physiotherapist will design treatment sessions tailored to the individual needs of your child. Treatments range from acupuncture to hydrotherapy to breath work, as well as traditional techniques, and can occur in the comfort of your own home.

NDIS Supports

Amelia has hand-picked a team of NDIS support coordinators, support workers, mentors, and therapy assistants to support NDIS participants to enhance their functional capacity and independence. NDIS Support Coordinators guide you to make the best use of your plan and understand how supports can be used to pursue your goals. They can connect you with NDIS providers, community and government services and build your confidence and skills to best utilise your supports. Our team will help nurture the therapeutic process by developing a shared understanding of concerns and systematically solve problems, helping clients to learn new skills and form new habits to improve situations and alleviate distress. We provide individual therapeutic support for participants of all ages.

Social Group Programs

Clinical Psychologist Amelia Read, along with the expertise of our group programs coordinator, Ashleigh, and all of our specialist therapists have come together to create specialised social group programs aimed at helping the ASD community grow and thrive at events that allow them to celebrate neurodiversity with like-minded peers.
These programs encourage neurodiverse individuals of all ages to step out of their comfort zone in a safe and supported space and practice using social skills, mindfulness, and emotional regulation techniques.
See our Social Groups page for upcoming events and how to register your attendance.
